The Desert - Part III

The flowers on cactus are few and far between now.  Below is the majestic saguaro with an abundant load of fruit.  The second photo offers a few blossoms that have been enjoyed by birds.  This fruit, red on the inside, can be harvested for jelly or syrup.

As the flowers fade so does the water in the desert.  Birds and animals are creative in finding moisture until the monsoon rain brings water in July.  This javalina and his pack were wandering the desert after spending time in the cool creek in the canyon.  Nothing like a splash to make your Sunday perfect!
