Too Much . . .

Last week the local weather was damp and gusty.  My deep pink tulips had just popped into bloom.  For about one hour I watched as the 40 mph gusts blew them in all directions.  Instead of waking to green stems in the AM, I decided to cut them for the house.  We enjoyed them for a full week.
As I started to look at them in more detail one morning, I noticed a bee coated in pollen in the middle of one of them.  Evidently, in his euphoria of landing on these freshly opened tulips, he did not realize how heavy he was becoming.  Unable to shed pollen, he passed in the heart of the tulip.
