I have not shared as many photos of my garden this year as
in the past. Due to my travels, I did
not plant as much but enjoyed what I did grow in my barrels. I had a mix of tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos,
herbs, and grapes.
I grew two types of tomatoes. One was a common cherry that was very tasty. The second was a heritage fruit that was an off purple color. These were large and very tasty. Combining the two in a salad with some mozzarella, olive oil, and white wine vinegar was a delicious treat.
The grapes were very productive this year. Lovely round and green grapes turned purple
as fall approached. These grapes are
especially sweet and juicy.
Unfortunately my garden was hit by some pretty fierce hail about two
weeks ago. Leaves were ripped to shreds
and fruit was badly bruised. So this
weekend I cleaned up the garden. With
everything gone but the grapes, the birds will not be confused on where to
begin.
I hope your garden provided you with joy and a bountiful
harvest!
