This morning we woke to a light but steady rain. After weeks of dry days, it was welcomed by
plants, animals, birds, and all things human.
We actually saw the hummingbirds at the feeder enjoying the moisture. As the storm moved on, we moved out for a
walk. The small sunflowers and other
wildflowers that appear this time of year were bright and the bees were busily
making up for the wet morning. I also
caught a gaggle of turtles enjoying themselves in the mid afternoon sun. It seemed that the rain and lower temperature
reminded all of us that summer is passing and autumn is about to fall. Enjoy the last days of summer!
