The winter months are filled with lots of color including flowers. A tradition in my family is to plant an amaryllis bulb in December to provide bright red, pink, and white flowers in January. Here's an example from January 2012 (below). In addition to amaryllis, paper whites, the christmas cactus and crowns of thorns, the holiday poinsetta offers rich and vibrant color against fresh snow.
A blog about nature connecting to life on a daily basis. This connectivity might be intentional or random but it occurs if people create an interest in monitoring it within their life. Topics will include bees, flowers, fruits, vegetables, places, weather, and random topics that appeal to the writer.

The Blooms of Winter
