Wildflowers in the Mountains

A wet winter that delayed summer has produced a bounty of wildflowers that would be passed by July in a traditional year. Today’s hike was incredible due to the bright yellows, blues, reds, and whites mixed in many shades of green. We encountered few people on the trail and many song birds, which reminded us how lucky we are to be able to experience nature within 20 minutes of our home.

In the next few postings, I will share some of the wildflowers we enjoyed today based on color. I hope you have an opportunity to enjoy the natural flowers in the grasslands and mountains near you.
