A great weekend in the desert southwest! An early morning hike (6 AM) allowed us the opportunity to cross the path of a gila monster. This reptile is found in the Arizona desert. It is highly recommended to keep your distance from this creature since it is very fast and has a poisonous bite if provoked. Once a gila monster has latched on to you, it is a challenge to extract it from your body.

Gila Monster - Oh My
